About the Founder

LocalScribe was founded by John Britton, a clinical psychology doctoral student focused on helping mental health professionals participate in shaping how artificial intelligence enters clinical practice. His interests sit at the intersection of psychology and technology, with an emphasis on ethical, transparent, and clinically responsible use rather than automation for its own sake. His training is grounded in health psychology and applied clinical work, and he is currently preparing for doctoral internship.

Alongside his clinical training, John brings a background as a jazz musician and music therapist, which shapes how he thinks about structure, attunement, and disciplined flexibility in professional work. LocalScribe reflects that perspective.

The application is designed to support documentation, clinician review, and professional judgment, while remaining practical and usable in real-world clinical settings.
